Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Battsetseg's story

Battsetseg is 36 years old and lives with her husband and three children in a ger (a Mongolian yurt) in Bulgan province, Mongolia.

Her husband is employed, her elder two children are school students and the younger one goes to kindergarten.

She started her stationery retailing business in 1998 by renting a counter in the market. Now that her business is stable, she decided to extend her market space by renting another counter in a market. However, her supplies are not enough to run a whole counter. Therefore she is requesting 2,500,000 MNT to purchase more supplies.

She is a sharp and diligent woman who says, "My kids are growing. Therefore more and more money is required to support them. I have to do everything I can in order to support them."
