A loan of $950 helped to pay for bags of rice, gallons of palm oil and tomato paste for her business.

Baindu's story

This is Baindu. She is divorced, and has 5 children aged 4, 7, 16, 21 and 26 years. She has 2 additional dependents who live with her to assist in the business.

In 2001, Baindu established her cookery and palm oil business. Her business started on a small scale in the outskirts of town but she now services a lot of customers. Working 7 days a week and 9 hours a day, she earns about Le 1,200,000 every month from this business. She would like a loan in the amount of Le 4,000,000. Baindu has already received and successfully repaid 1 loan, and now requires a new loan in order to buy more cooking condiments she uses in her cookery. She will use this loan to buy 2 bags of rice at Le 270,000, 15 gallons palm oil at Le 270,00 and 1 cartoon tomato paste at Le 40,000.

She hopes that this loan will enable her to increase her monthly profits by approximately Le 300,000. In the future, Baindu plans to improve on the business to a level of creating her own canteen, hiring staff to work for her and to educate her children to the university level. Her suppliers are all within town. She also plans to save for her house project and improve on her children's welfare. She thanks you for your support.
