Karla Patricia's story

Señora Karla is 25 years old and lives in the town of Choloma. She is a single mother with two children aged 6 and 2. The older one is in school. Karla and her children live with Karla's mother. Karla specializes in making doughnuts. She started her business in October 2010, in order to move her family ahead in life. Karla's mother helps her make the doughnuts, and the business has two salespeople who are responsible for selling the doughnuts as street vendors. Karla also sells them in the factory where she works. Her schedules is what's known as "4x4", where she works for 4 days, and then has 4 days off. When she isn't in the factory, she works in her business. She requested this loan of L10,000 for the purchase of raw ingredients for making the doughnuts (flour, sugar, milk, salt, among other things). Her dream is to be able to have her own home, and for her children to graduate.
