Emilia's story

Emilia, 44, has been married to Ramón, 50, for 17 years. They have two children who are 16 and 2 years old respectively. The oldest is in the second years of technical high school studying computer sciences and the youngest hasn’t started school yet.

Emilia has been a street vendor for a year because her previous business, a veterinary/farm supply, did not work out. She comments that her husband works as an employee in a veterinary shop in Ciudad del Este and together they try to cover family expenses and to pay for their daughter’s studies since she’s soon to start her university career. Their dream is that she graduates university with a profession. She’s asking for the loan to buy products for her business like: pressure cookers, pots, thermos bottles, brass bowls, t-shirts, blouses and other items that will allow her to offer a variety to her customers and thus improve her monthly income.
