A loan of $400 helped to purchase goods for selling (peanuts, rice, flour, juice, refreshments, etc.).

Maria's story

She was born in the district of Boane, province of Maputo, southern Mozambique. She is married and has two children. One of them is in the workforce and the other one still attends school. She completed 5th grade and stopped because her parents lacked financial conditions. She lives with her family in a house she owns and does not support anyone else.
She has been a businesswoman for over two years. She sells various goods and earns an income of about 4.700mt a month. She uses it to pay for home expenses and saves part of it in her bank account.
She has had a loan in another bank (SENCOR) and she was able to repay it without difficulties. She first heard of Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client of this insitution. This is her first loan with Hluvuku. It is for 10.000mt, which she intends to use to purchase goods (peanuts, rice, flour, juice, refreshments, etc.) in order to increase the volume of her merchandise.
She pledges to repay as scheduled. In the future she intends to expand her business and make home improvements. For that purpose she plans to request more loans from Hluvuku.
