A loan of $950 helped to purchase used clothing for resale.

Zulfa's story

Zulfa was born in the Boane district, Maputo province, in southern Mozambique. She is married and has 4 children. Three of them have their own homes and 1 is still in school. She attended school through the 4th grade but dropped out due to her parents' financial situation. She lives in her own home with her family and also supports a grandson who lives with her.

Zulfa is a merchant and has had a business selling used clothes for more than 4 years. She earns around 6.500.00mt monthly, which she uses for household expenses and savings in her bank account (BIM).

She has had prior loans in other banks (GGLS) a long time ago and she paid them without any problems. She learned about Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client. This is her fourth loan with Hluvuku, in the amount of 25.000.00mt, which she plans to use to purchase bundles of clothing to increase her stock. The prior loans were for 9.000.00mt, 15.000.00mt, and 20.000.00mt, all for her business. She promises to make her payments on schedule. In the future she plans to build a shop where she can display her products, and for that purpose she intends to request additional loans from Hluvuku.
