A loan of $950 helped to purchase used clothing for resale.

Gracieta's story

Gracieta was born in the Boane district, Maputo province, in southern Mozambique. She is separated and has 2 children who are in school. She attended school through the 8th grade but did not continue due to her parents’ financial situation. She lives in her own home with her family and sometimes helps out her mother by sending her money for food expenses.

Gracieta is a merchant and has sold used clothes for the past 2 years with a monthly income of around 8.500.000mt, which she uses for household expenses and savings in her bank account (BIM). She has never had a loan in other banks. She learned about Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client. This is her second loan with Hluvuku, in the amount of 25.000.00mt, which she will use to purchase bundles of clothing to increase her inventory. The first loan was for 20.000.00mt, for her business.

She promises to make her payments on schedule. In the future she plans to improve the condition of her home and she will request additional loans from Hluvuku for that purpose.
