A loan of $950 helped to purchase more medication.

Maria's story

María is 39 and is married to Edgar, 39. The couple has three children. They live in their own house located in the Sivia district. María is an enterprising woman. She recalls that before she had her pharmacy, she offered beauty products from door-to-door, moving from one city to another, serving any customers she was able to find. With time, her business grew slowly and she also had a considerable number of customers. Later, she met Edgar, her now-husband, who is a nurse.

Since that time, they opened a pharmacy where they currently both work. Thus María sells her beauty products along with her husband’s medications. María is pleased with the achievements she is seeing from working at her business, as it is generating good profits.

In the future, she hopes that her pharmacy becomes the best in the city. This will be her second loan with MFP, and she commits to once again punctually making her repayments. With the 2,500 nuevos soles, she will purchase more medication to sell in the pharmacy.
