Sonia Marisol

A loan of $600 helped to buy pigs to breed.

Sonia Marisol's story

Sonia is a hardworking and enterprising person who likes to succeed in the things that she does. She is a 32 year-old single mother of 3 children, aged 6, 5 and 2. She lives with them in San Gabriel in northern Ecuador.

Sonia works alone raising and selling pigs. She started doing this type of work with her mother and a baby pig, and she shared the earnings with her mother. But now, because of her children, she needs to increase her income so that she can support them and provide them with an education. For this reason she is taking her first loan with FODEMI, which she will invest in the purchase of pigs to breed. In this way her business can grow and generate a good income.

Her dream is to improve her family's quality of life, and she wants to become a great small businesswoman.
