Gloria Estela's story

Gloria, 28, lives in a village in the municipality of La Lima, Cortes. She’s a single mother of a one-year-old son.

Gloria enjoys decorating and manual arts. She makes costume jewelry like bracelets, hoops, necklaces and rings. She’s been in this line of work for approximately four years and she spends half a day, every day doing it. She opened the business because she needed a source of income for her family and to get ahead economically.

She requested this L6,000 loan to buy supplies to make hoops, necklaces, rings and bracelets. Her dream is to make her business grow in number of customers and to increase sales of her product. In the future, she’d like to go into another type of business like fruit and vegetables sales to diversify her sources of income.
