Melchora's story

Melchora is 21 years old and lives with her parents in the city of Carapeguá. She lives with her husband, Raúl and together they sell hammocks, sheets, bedspreads, and other things. They are mobile sellers and make their runs in the metropolitan zone, specifically in the towns surrounding the capitol. She is very dedicated and sells door to door, covering many kilometers on her motorcycle. She learned this line of work from her brother and used to make her sales with him. This motivated her to dedicate herself to this line of work so that she can grow as a person and professional. Melchora started this line of work after having finished her first school cycle, in order to help out the family financially. Her parents worked exclusively on the farm. She is requesting assistance through Fundación Paraguaya and Kiva, in order to buy hammocks, sheets, bedspreads, and other items for resale. She is grateful to Fundación Paraguaya and Kiva for the opportunity they provide.
