A loan of $1,200 helped to buy dry goods (corn and beans).

Juan Benito's story

Don Juan is 54 years old and originally from San Juan de Limay in the town of Estelí. He is married and has two children, ages 18 and 15, who are both studying. Juan is a merchant who buys, sells, and stores dry goods such as corn and beans. He has been in business for 15 years. His previous job involved directing public health teams that prevented communicable diseases transmitted by mosquitoes. Juan discovered that he could make a better living by selling dry goods, so he decided to sell and store corn and beans.

He is requesting a loan to buy dry goods. The loan that will be granted to him will provide the opportunity to acquire products in bulk and at a good price. He will sell his products in Estelí and in the regions outside of the city that are in need of these items. His main expectations are to provide for his children’s education, repay his loan, add sorghum to his inventory of products to sell, and buy a vehicle for transporting his goods.
