A loan of $375 helped to buy sacks of fertilizer.

Maria's story

María who is 57 years old is an admirable woman. She lives with her three children and 3 grandchildren in her own house located in the town of Ataura.

She became a widow 6 years ago and has faced many difficulties. One of these is the care of her oldest daughter who is disabled and not able to walk. This was a major motivation for working enthusiastically to have her own business and in this way to earn money. So she opened a restaurant in the town square where the tourists and local people often go, knowing about María’s exquisite flavors.

But as she is also a field worker, she also grows large quantities of corn and potatoes on farming land which she currently rents, which is not the same as having her own. Now she wants to gather the money necessary to buy productive land to minimize costs.

She belongs to the communal bank Hacienda and this is the 4th loan with MFP, where she feels happy as she receives your support, all of you who have permitted her to continue in her business. Also, she promises to be punctual in her loan payments, because the communal bank is made up of trustworthy and caring people. María, upon receiving help, will use the money from the loan to buy natural fertilizers to spread about her corn crops
