A loan of $1,775 helped a member to buy foodstuffs.

Municipal D-4 Group's story

The “Municipal D-4” communal bank will start its second cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the Los Andes focal center. It has 8 members led by a governing board headed by Julia. The members of the communal bank carry out a variety of businesses among which we have: cereal sales, cosmetics sales, food sales, blanket weaving, potato and rice sales, shoe making, stationery shop and sewing.

Julia states that she’s worked with Pro Mujer for two years having joined thanks to an invitation from one of the promoters. She currently has a business preparing food that she’s had for several years having learned it from her mother.

The loan she’ll take out now is to increase capital. She will buy foodstuffs in La Ceja which she’ll later sell in her food stand. This way of working allows her to generate income to support her family since she’s married and has five children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she answers the she likes the training.

In this group: Julia, Chanel , Miriam Juana, Maria , Pamela Victoria, Cristina, Gladys Petronila, Tomasina
