A loan of $375 helped to buy materials for her beauty salon.

Pilar's story

Pilar is 20 years old and a single mother. She lives in the Acolla neighborhood, together with her mother and her son, Damian. Thanks to the land that her mother inherited, she can plant potatoes, corn, and peas; this provides some income for herself and her son. During periods of harvest, she also works as a laborer in other farms so she can raise money her next planting. Her few crops do not discourage her. She desires to triumph over everything because she is a woman who does not give up easily.

Now, she would like to open a beauty salon. Pilar already took the first step by acquiring a small premises where she will begin to cut and style hair, as well as do makeup for her patrons. She has set up seats and mirrors; she only needs a few remaining things and is sure of realizing her goal.

She belongs to the communal bank "Mujeres Luchadores" ("Fighting Women"). This is her first loan with MFP, where she hopes for all of your support to achieve her goal. She promises to make her loan payments punctually, as her communal bank is composed of responsible individuals who support each other. Upon receiving your support, Pilar will invest the loan to purchase items for her hair salon.
