A loan of $525 helped a member to buy animals to breed.

Duo Nueva Amistad Group's story

One of the members of the Duo Nueva Amistad Group ("new friendship") is Doña María Felipa, married and the mother of eight children. Two of her children are already married and don't live with her. She has been raising animals at home for several years. She needs this loan to be able to buy more animals, such as turkeys, and to install feedboxes. María Felipa wants to have enough animals for sale when the Christmas season begins, because at that time these animals are in high demand and people pay a very good price. She will be able to earn a good income and is confident that it will give her the opportunity to expand her business and earn even more money, which she will use to support her children in their studies and help her husband. The other group member is Doña Felisa Hilaria, who applies for a loan to buy animals to breed in order to increase her income. Both women are thankful to the microfinance institution FAPE and to Kiva for the provided help.
