Deysi's story

Deysi, 41, is a hard-working and diligent woman. She lives with Máximo and their two children, 16 and 5, comfortably in their own house. Deysi sells groceries from her house where she opened a store. She sells to neighbors and strangers and since it’s doing well, she decided to continue with her business. She has had the business for 5 years and it has continued growing because of the good service she and her son give to her customers. What she likes about the work is the free time it affords her to take care of her house and to be able to watch her younger child. Besides feeling like a productive and independent woman, the income allows her to support her husband with household expenses. This is good since often the money he earns as a construction worker isn’t enough for the family. She tells us that she has plans to expand her business and increase the stock of the products. This will be the third loan with MFP and she feels grateful for the financing that she has received to move her business along, and she promises to make all payments on time as she has with the previous loans. She will use the requested money to buy products such as: rice, oil, sugar, noodles and more wholesale, because the better prices will give her greater earnings.
