A loan of $375 helped to buy young chickens and poultry feed.

Maide's story

Sra. Maide is a member of the Communal Bank “Flor de Café” (Coffee Flower) which is located in the District of Soritor, Province and Department of San Martín. She is 37 years old and a single mother with two children. Her older child is 16 years old and a high school student, while the younger child is six years old and attends kindergarten.

Maide decided to start her business so that she could earn her own income and raise her children. She studied for a degree in nursing. After finishing her degree, she decided to work at a PRONOEI (a state-run school) as a reading teacher. With her savings from this job, Maide came up with the idea of starting her own business. She currently raises and sells chickens. Through this business, she is able to cover her children’s expenses and support her mother. There was no one to help her establish her business. She used 2000 PEN of capital to start her business.

With this new loan of 1000 PEN, she will buy young chickens and balanced feed for her birds. Maide is a determined and hardworking woman. Her dream is to have a farm where she can offer other products and improve her income. She is very grateful to Manuela Ramos for trusting her.
