A loan of $575 helped to buy groceries and snacks.

Lily's story

Lily is 36 years old and is a hard working dynamic woman. She lives with William, her young 3 year old son, in a home of her own, which she was able to buy with lots of effort and help from her mate. Her’s is a grocery business which she runs out of her home. She opened it with her and her husband’s savings. At first they only bought a few items, which they sold out of, and after two years her business became profitable.

What she likes about her business activity is that she can count on an income that helps her husband with the household expenses, especially because at times his income was not enough. He drives a moto-taxi. Besides, her profits make her feel comfortable and she plans to expand and grow her business and increase her stock of products.

This will be her second loan through MFP. She is happy to be able to count on financial backing in order to continue moving ahead with her business, and she is committed to making her payments as with previous loans.

Aside from feeling comfortable with the communal bank, she considers its members to be reasonable and united. She will use the 1,500 PEN ($575) from this loan to buy groceries and snacks in quantity. She believes that an increased selection will better satisfy her customers.
