A loan of $375 helped to buy clothes.

Raquel's story

Raquel, 42, is an enterprising, hardworking woman. She lives with Rodolfo and they have two children who are 24 and 13 years old. They all live together comfortably in their own house.

Raquel’s activity is selling women’s, men’s and children’s clothes as well as shoes that she brings on order from the city of Lima to then sell personally to her neighbors and family members often for cash but also on credit. She’s been in this line of work for 8 years. What she likes about it is being able to socialize with people and provide them with good service as well as having a steady income since her spouse’s salary from his job in a private firm sometimes was insufficient to cover their food and clothing needs. She plans to continue and to increase the volume of her stock merchandise.

This will be MFP loan #3 and she feels happy and grateful for the opportunity to have a line of credit to grow in her business which is why she says she will be punctual with her payments like she’s been in previous loans. On the other hand, she feels happy in her communal bank because they have been doing well to date. She will use the requested amount to buy clothes in larger amounts to be ready for the Christmas season; she wants to increase her stock of merchandise.
