A loan of $1,100 helped to buy more merchandise: oil, milk, rice, cookies, water, soup, soda, eggs, soap, etc.

Aquilina's story

Aquilina is an enterprising and very hardworking woman. She is 50 years old and married to José, who is a beekeeper. They have six children, all of whom are married and have their own lives. She has had a grocery store for more than nine years.

She says that she decided to invest in this work because she wants to help her husband with the household expenses, since he was working too much and he does not earn enough to have good financial solvency. They also are able to have a better quality of life.

She will invest the loan she received in buying more merchandise, such as oil, milk, rice, cookies, water, soup, soda, eggs, soap, etc., so her business has more stock.

One of Aquilina's goals for her business is to make it grow a lot, since she is thinking about expanding her store a little in the future. She wants to open a wholesale store, since in that way she will have a wider assortment and she will improve and increase her income much more.

She thanks Fundación Realidad and the Kiva lenders for all the support and confidence they are giving her. This helps her a lot, since now she can continue investing in her business and support her family.
