A loan of $750 helped to purchase necessities to stock her general store.

Edith's story

Edith, 47, is a hardworking and dedicated woman. She lives with Emilio and their three children, who are 14, 16, and 20 years old, in a house that they own. They were able to purchase the house with a lot of effort.

Edith works selling necessity items in a general store located in her home. She started her business with very little merchandise that she was able to buy with money she had saved. Later, with a lot of effort and dedication, she became well known and expanded her store. She has had this business for 20 years. Her children help her serve her customers, who are mostly her neighbors. The thing she likes best about her business is being able to socialize and make new friends with whom she can exchange ideas. In addition to the income she earns that helps with household expenses, her husband works as a mototaxi driver. However, some customers insist on payment on credit, but she denies them because they do not pay punctually.

She has plans to expand her store, both in space and in the diversity of products offered. This will be her 24th loan with MFP, and she hopes to continue working together so that she can achieve her goals, as with her previous loans. She feels comfortable with her community bank group since she considers the members to be responsible and supportive people.

With the loan requested, she will purchase necessities to stock her store so that she can have more options for her customers.
