A loan of $300 helped to buy a mixer.

Blas Antonio's story

Mr Blas, age 46, is married to Ramona, age 49. Ramona sells vegetables which she grows herself. They have six children, three boys and three girls. Their oldest daughter is in university, and their oldest son, age 18, helps his father. Blas tells us that he has worked in brick laying, construction, and plumbing for over 25 years. When he was young, he was a driver, but he then decided to work on buildings; working on homes, installing pipes, plumbing, and other such things. His wife helps take care of the children and works in their garden. Blas' interest in his children's education, and his attitude toward it, is admirable. He is trying to get the necessary resources to put his older children through higher education. They live outside of the city and have few resources. Blas thanks the Fundacion Paraguaya for the opportunity they are offering and says that he will use this loan to buy a mixer. This will help him greatly to improve his work.
