Purificación's story

Mrs. Purificación belongs to the "Alisson II" Communal Bank in the Tarapoto district, Lamas province, San Martin Department. She is 54, married, and has four children who all have families of their own.
She has always worked to generate an income and contribute to the household income.
Several years ago she opened a kiosk by the school near her home, selling refreshments. She did this for a few years until the school administration told her she had to stop, because they ran it. So, she decided to start making snacks such as pastries, plantain chips, and toasted corn. She sells these to the small kiosks located around the school, and in the afternoons she goes out to sell local fruits such as aguaje. This is how she gets ahead and generates her own income.
With this new loan of S/. 1,200, she plans to buy ingredients for making her snacks: for example, flour, eggs, sugar, milk, bananas, corn, and in-season fruit to sell.
Purificación is a hard-working woman. Her dream is to have a store from which to sell refreshments in the mornings and food at noon. This would proviD. her with a better income.
