Virginia's story

Virginia is a member of the “Kapia Marca” communal bank located in Yunguyo District and Province, Puno Department. She’s 48 years old, married and has five children two of which are independent.

Virginia has worked with the Manuela Ramos Movement for six years. She relates that her first loan was for 300 new soles that she used to increase capital in her business raising cattle and trout.

She is asking for a new, 300 new sol, loan to buy fifteen sacks of feed for the trout (Purina and Naltech). Her children and her husband help her in the business. Her dream for the future is to have more cages for the trout and to be a great businesswoman. What she likes best about her communal bank is the meetings; sharing ideas and experiences with her fellow members.
