Sapah Group's story

Mabinty is the leader of this group of entrepreneurs. She was born in Freetown in 1976. Mabinty is married to a security officer and the couple has seven children – five in secondary school and two in primary school.

For 10 years now, Mabinty has been selling rice, palm-oil (the most popular cooking oil), cabbages, etc. This is the first loan that Mabinty and her group members have applied for from SMT/Kiva lenders. With the help of this loan, they will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and consequently improve on their living conditions. Mabinty will use her share of the loan (700,000 SLL) to expand her business, she will buy three 50kg bags of rice to sell.
