Jane's story

Jane is a 40 year old business woman, who lives in Juba. She is widow and has 4 children between the ages of 16 and 4. Three of her children go to school.

Jane runs a food store. She has been in this business for 12 years. She has no employees. Jane heard about Finance Sudan through the outreach and promotion done by the loan officers. She is taking a loan of 3,000 SDG to purchase more items such as maize flour, cassava flour, sorghum and millet. Jane has no other source of income than this business.

In 5 years time, Jane hopes to be able to sell from her own shop, not a rented one. Her major challenges include high cost of living and that everything in the market is expensive.

Jane says that she appreciates Finance Sudan’s support. She is a widow, and the father of her children died during the war. Without this support she was not going to be able to pay for the children to go to school.
