Amale is a 43-year-old Lebanese divorced woman, living with one parent. She has owned a clothing store since 2004. She sells only women’s and children’s clothes.
With her requested loan of $1,500 from Kiva partner, Ameen s.a.l, she will be able to diversify her merchandise selection and purchase new clothes from different brands and trends. She notes that selling good quality clothes will help her attract more customers, and so augment her sales and her income.
In the future, she plans to expand her business and target a wider clientele.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
