Nelson is a 31-year-old business man who lives in Juba. He is married and has four children between the ages of 1 and 13. Two of them go to school.
Nelson runs a mixed retail store, and he has been in the business for 11 years. He has no employees. Nelson heard about Finance Sudan through fellow clients and outreach and promotion done by the loan officers. He is taking a loan of SDG 3,000 to purchase more maize flour, wool, paper bags, and many other things. Nelson has no other source of income than his general store.
In 5 years time, Nelson hopes to increase the size of his business. His major challenges include competitors in the market with the same type of general store, which leads to a low income rate.
