Nueva Esperanza Group's story

This group, called Nueva Esperanza, is made up of 16 members who invest the support they get from the foundation into their various lines of work. They are in their second lending cycle with the program Comite de Mujeres Emprendedoras and they want to keep growing with the help of the foundation.

Lucina, 33, is a merchant with a small but well-stocked store. She has two children, ages 13 and 10, who are in school. She tells us that her children are her reason for being and that they motivate her to keep fighting. She has many sales orders, which is why she asks for a loan to be able to complete those orders.

Lucina asks for a loan to buy corn, pasta, sugar, flour and other products to stock her store and meet her customers' demand.
