Mamadou's story

Born around 1968 in Sikasso, Mr. Mamadou is a married man who resides with his wife and their children in a large traditional extended families in Sikasso City (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). After having run several businesses unsuccessfully, he has become familiar with the domain of poultry since 2006.

Mr. Mamadou has a farm not far from Sikasso City on Route RN7 where there are hundred of birds (hens, Guinea hens, geese, turkeys, pigeons, etc.) He is much in demand by his customers for the quality of his birds, which are good quality and watched over by qualified veterinarians.

To satisfy his burgeoning customer base, Mr. Mamadou decided to join the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso about two years ago. He has already benefited from three loans with it. He is thus requesting this fourth individual loan to buy chicks and some farmyard medicines and feed.

With this loan, he envisions making a monthly profit of 175,000 francs CFA that will be used essentially to help with family expenses and to cover the interest on his loan. The rest will be invested in his business.
