A loan of $300 helped to purchase a refrigerator, beer and soft drinks.

Jeyssi's story

21-year-old Jeyssi, is a cheerful and outgoing woman who is hardworking and earnest. She lives with her partner Juan and they have a 1-year-old son who she loves very much and he is her motivation. They all live together in their own home which she managed to buy with the support of her partner.

Jeyssi sells food, such as juanes and tacachos (regional dishes), pies and refreshments. She inherited the business from her grandmother and has a stall in the informal sector of their city. Every morning, Jeyssi wakes up very early and goes to her stall, carrying all the food that she already prepared the night before. She stays at the stall until about noon to sell her products. Her mother helps her to prepare the food, but she sells the products alone.

Jeyssi says that she enjoys cooking, and with the income she makes she has been able to buy some electronic appliances for her home. Her plan is to expand her business and start a second business selling beer and soft drinks, which her sister will look after. This is Jeyssi's first loan with the MFP institution. She is pleased to have access to a credit line to advance her business, and she says will be punctual in paying her dues. With the amount requested, Jeyssi will invest in buying a refrigerator, beer and soft drinks to commence sales from her home.
