A loan of $300 helped to buy another mototaxi.

Milita's story

Melita, 27, is a young woman with a strong drive to stand out. She lives with her spouse and they have two children who are 7 and 3 years old. She owns her house where she shares with her spouse the joy of educating their children and providing the best for them. Besides them, her father lives there too.

Melita’s work consists in leasing out a mototaxi. Starting very early she rises to await her four drivers who take the mototaxis to work providing transportation services. She leases out the mototaxis and earns profits for each one of them. She’s been in this business for three years and is doing very well. What she likes about the work is that it leaves her with free time to do many activities while her mototaxis generate additional income. When she started out she only had one mototaxi but now she’s increasing more each time. She mentions that the bad thing about the business is that the vehicles are damaged quite a bit due to the poor way the drivers treat them or because of the poor condition of the roads but it’s a risk one must assume in this business. Now, she’s getting ready to be able to enlarge her fleet but first she wants to service her four existing units.

This will be her first MFP loan and she is very happy to know that she’ll be getting financial support because she feels she can advance with her business. On the other hand she commits to be a good, punctual member of her communal bank. She hopes to fit in quickly in the communal bank she belongs to because she wants to be very responsible always and not disappoint anyone.

She will use the requested 800 soles to buy another mototaxi since she’s been saving up all this time and has about 100 soles and all she needs still is the amount she requested to be able to have the rest she needs.
