Jessica Piedad's story

Jessica Piedad, 20, is in a common law relationship and has a son. She lives with her husband and son in her in-laws’ house in Chillanes, Bolívar Province.

The “La Florida” communal bank has 12 members, both men and women, and is located in Chillanes Canton five minutes from the office.

Jessica raises pigs to sell and is a corn and broad bean farmer. Her purchases and her sales take place in Chillanes weekly. She requests the loan to be able buy seeds and urea. Support from the loan will help her improve her quality of life and to be able to produce in larger quantities. Her dream is to stay healthy and to build a house. The daily challenges she faces are competition and the middlemen. She considers herself to by a very tranquil, hardworking and honest person; she enjoys playing basketball.
