A loan of $325 helped to buy basic grains and sweets.

Adelina's story

Adelina, age 63, is a single mother because she is a widow. She has six children. She lives in an urban community in the Quimistan municipality, Santa Bárbara. She lives with three of her children; the other three are married.

Her business is a grocery store where she sells food products. She started her business with a loan from ODEF. Since then she has been a permanent client. She used to sell tortillas, but she needed more income. She decided to change her business activity.

Adelina has requested a loan to stock her grocery store with products like basic grains (corn, rice, beans), sweets, eggs, detergents, and soaps. She believes that her income has improved.

The loan payments that she needs to make are in accordance with the sales and profits that she receives.

Her plans are to increase sales and to keep her business stocked.
