Mexico / Manufacturing

A loan of $1,125 helped to buy raw materials like cement and sand.

Elizabeth Catalina's story

Elizabeth is 44 years old, widowed and has four children who are all now married. She and her children own a brick factory (they manufacture concrete blocks); they’ve had it for six years.

She says that she decided to go into this activity because she wanted to find a way to support her family and improve their quality of life still more. The loan she got will be used to buy more raw materials like cement and sand to continue with sales.

Eli’s (as she’s better known in her community) goal for her business that she hopes to reach is to invest much more into it to make it grow quickly because she wants to buy more work tools: shovels, templates and three wheelbarrows to improve and increase production and income a bit more because then she’d be able to insure her future.

She thanks Kiva lenders for the trust they’ve placed in her because thanks to this support she’s able now to continue investing in her business.
