A loan of $775 helped to purchase more meat for resale.

Dan's story

Dan is 50 years old and lives in the town of Ggaba in the Kampala South region of Uganda. He is married and has 6 children. For the past 6 years, Dan has been working hard to manage his butcher shop, which sells meat.

To help expand his business, Dan has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more meat for resale, and will help Dan to generate greater profits and buy food to feed his family. Dan hopes that in the future he will be able to open more branches of the same business.

Dan is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Dan who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
