Mila's story

Mila, 32 years old, is a kind woman. She has lived with her husband, Etson, for 12 years. They have two children, Andrés and Sami, who they look after in her mother's house in Hualahoyo. Mila is happy that she still has her mother's support. Her husband works as a driver, transporting food to cities throughout the country. His work is very demanding, so he only manages to see her for a couple of days at a time. However, a few months ago she planned to open a welding workshop with her mother where her husband could work. Then he would be closer to his family.

Meanwhile, she is engaged in agriculture, cultivating potatoes, corn and beans, on both her own and rented land. She sells the harvested produce in Huancayo. During her 12 years experience in farming, she has also raised young animals such as chickens, pigs, guinea pigs, and cows, which she fattens up and then sells at a higher price.

She belongs to the communal bank, "Hualahoyo al progreso", and this is their ninth loan with Kiva Field Partner, MFP, on whom they are depending for collaboration to realize their plans. For their part, they promise to make the repayments, as with previous loans. Mila is pleased to be part of this group, because all the members are responsible and very supportive. On receiving your support, Mila will invest the requested money in the purchase of natural fertilizers for growing potatoes.
