A loan of $1,200 helped to buy seafood (octopus, prawns, clams).

Marlene Gabriela's story

Marlene sells varied seafood such as octopus, clams, prawns, etc. These products are imported from Chile and Perú, since Bolivia has no sea coast. She sells to restaurants, seafood and ceviche establishments in La Paz and el Alto de Bolivia. Marlene does not have children, and is very hard-working and hopes in the future to buy her own house and have some savings for an eventual family. With this credit she plans to buy seafood to satisfy customer orders. She dreams of one day owning a restaurant to sell her seafood products for residents of La Paz and Bolivia to enjoy. Marlene is dedicated worker and is very grateful for the support given by microcredit.
