A loan of $1,400 helped a member to pay school fees for his children.


Komba Denis' Group's story

We are pleased to present to you this group of teachers from Koidu City in eastern Sierra Leone. They have applied for a loan of 6,100,000 SLL from Salone Microfinance Trust, a Kiva partner micro-finance institution (MFI) based in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone. With the help of this loan they will be able to meet their immediate financial challenges, and at the end of each month they will repay the loan using their monthly salaries. Tamba is the leader of this group of teachers. The 52-year-old Tamba lives in eastern Sierra Leone. He is married and has five children – two in primary school and three in secondary school. Tamba has been a professional teacher for 28 years now. Tamba has requested this loan in order to pay school fees for his children.
