Adella's story

Adella, a resident of Kampala, Uganda, is the married mother of three children, two of whom attend school. She takes care of one additional family member, her mother. She lives in her own house, and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees and rent.

For the last 10 years Adella has been operating a retail shop seven days a week. She also has a motorcycle that helps her generate income on a daily basis. Facing the major business challenges of transportation and seasonality, Adella is requesting a loan of 2000000 from MCDT SACCO to buy bags of sugar, rice, flour, cooking oil and boxes of soap. Her goals are to build rental houses and to own a wholesale shop.
