Hasan is a 49-year-old Lebanese man who lives with his wife and two school-aged children. He has been working in fruit and vegetable sales in his town since 1995. His products are carried on a trolley and he works on a freelance basis. Hasan has also worked in a local bakery since 2005 with the aim of earning more income. Today, he is requesting to borrow $800 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase metal stands and tables to better display his merchandise. In the future, he hopes to open his own shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
