A loan of $575 helped to buy household products.

Rolando's story

Rolando, 28, is married to Reyna, 35; they do not yet have children. They live together in the small town of Canayre, where they have a rented house.

Rolando says that when he was a child he always wanted to excel economically, and this is why he has been working as a traveling salesman since he was 17 years old. When he finished school, he worked at a sewage project, which is where he made the capital that he used to buy merchandise and begin traveling among the markets, which are his points of sale. This is how Rolando sells his products, and he is proud of his good earnings. In the near future he wants to establish himself in the town, where he can have his own house and open a store in it. Then he would not be traveling from market to market since that has many disadvantages, and sometimes the products deteriorate because of the long trip Rolando makes.

This will be his first loan, so he is committed to making his payments on time. With the 1,500 new soles, Rolando will buy more varied products, including items for the home, so he can stock his business.
