A loan of $1,000 helped to buy cement, sand and other materials to build a perimeter wall.

Maristela's story

Maristela is 40 years old. She is a single mother and has one son.

Maristela sews clothes and makes pupusas. Her husband left her three years ago and, since then, Maristela has worked to support her son and her parents who are now elderly.

With the help of her sister, Maristela sells pupusas every afternoon and, during the day, she sews clothes. She learned how to sew thanks to her parents as they sent her to a school to learn 16 years ago and now this has become a source of income for her and her family. She acquires the supplies she uses to make her pupusas from the closest place to her home. She then returns home and makes them.

Maristela is requesting a loan from Fundación Campo to buy cement, sand and other materials in order to build a perimeter wall to keep her home safe and protected. Her dad grows vegetables and these will be safer. In the future, Maristela hopes to build her own house together with her family.
