A loan of $625 helped to buy pagnes, shoes and bags of charcoal.

Raina's story

Raina is a 31-year-old woman. She is married to a driver. She has two children, one of whom is in school. The elder is 10, the younger 2 years old.

Raina has been working as a retailer since 2007. She walks around selling pagnes [traditional wraps], shoes and charcoal to all her customers. She buys her products in Lomé. She works alone. For now, she doesn't have any problems.

Raina requested this first loan with WAGES in order to buy pagnes, shoes and charcoal. She wants to reinvest in the business.

In the coming years, Raina would like to grow her business. She says that with the profits, she intends to look after her family.
