Hope To Succeed Group's story

Meet the members of the “Hope To Succeed” group from Magburaka, a town in Northern Sierra Leone. They are all local entrepreneurs who have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva.org, to apply for a loan of 500,000 SLL for each. With the help of this loan they will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and consequently improve their living conditions.

Salaymatu is the leader of this group. The thirty-year-old is married to a teacher and they have two children. Salaymatu has been a businesswoman for over four years now. She sells rice, palm oil and clothes. With her share of this loan, she will buy the above-mentioned items wholesale to add to her business inventory.
