A loan of $1,200 helped to purchase another stand in Phnom Penh for her younger daughter to operate.


Khiev's story

Mrs. Khiev S., 46, is a widow and owns a small booth, selling a variety of fruits, biscuits and some other provisions of food in Prey Veng province, Cambodia. Everyday she has to go the market to sell the fruits to the customers, normally earning around $5 a day of profit. She has three children. One son works in Ming Houy Company, earning a salary of $200 a month, and the other one is a motor mechanic, earning around $100 a month. Mrs. Khiev S. hopes to use this loan to purchase another stand in Phnom Penh for her younger daughter to operate, and with rest of the money she will purchase a motorbike to transfer her fruits to market and home. Moreover, this motorbike will br used as a taxi to transfer people in the daytime, to generate more income. She plans to raise pigs at her house, too.
