Maboe Nande Group's story

Pictured here are members of the “Maboe Nande” group from Magburaka, a town in Northern Sierra Leone. They are small business people who have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva.org, in order to seek a loan of 500,000 SLL for each in the group. With this loan, they will be able to add more goods to their businesses, attract more customers, make more sales and profit and consequently improve on their living conditions. The leader of this group of entrepreneurs is Kadiatu. Kadiata was born in Northern Sierra Leone 35 years ago. She is married and has two children. Her husband is a salaried worker and her children are attending primary and secondary school. Kadiatu has been a businesswoman for ten years, she sells dishes, plastic bowls, etc. With her share of this loan, she is going to buy dozens of dishes and plastic bowls to add to her business.
