A loan of $625 helped buy lengths of bazin fabric.

Yawoa's story

Yawoa is a 32-year-old woman. She is married to a laboratory assistant, and is the mother of one child.

Yawoa has been working as a retail merchant since 2009. She buys and resells rich (100% cotton) and less rich bazin fabric, to all-comers as an itinerant vendor in Lomé. She buys bazin fabric at Lomé's great market.

Yawao requested her first loan from WAGES to purchase bazin fabric to be resold. She wants to reinvest any additional profits into developing more business.

In coming years, she would like to have a shop selling bazin. She said that with the profits, she plans to ensure her financial autonomy.
