A loan of $2,900 helped a member to buy vegetables, flour, eggs, etc.

Vecinas Alegres Group's story

The 'Vecinas Alegres' (Happy Neighbors) Women's Committee was created by one of its members who contacted one of the foundation's loan officers as she wanted to create a group for her neighbors. As a result, this group was formed. The group currently has 11 female members. The ladies are very united, responsible and supportive. They are working very happily together as a team, with a lot of effort and care, within the Women's Committee program.

One of the members is Teodolina who has a well-stocked grocery store where she offers her neighbors basic household products. She considers herself to be a very hard-working, tenacious, entrepreneurial woman. She tells us that she gets up very early in the morning to organize her store as her customers start arriving very early. She would like to continue increasing her business and is requesting a loan to buy vegetables, flour, eggs and other products which will allow her to stock her store.

In this group: Emilce, Cyntia, Amelia, Bonifacia, Tranquilina, Gladys, Fátima, Sixta, Nimia, Petrona, Teodolina*
